Footprint Map: the location of all MODIS scenes available from COOA for the Northeastern U.S. Coastal Ocean region.
|
Summary:
This collection contains maps for the western North Atlantic derived from satellite remote sensing data. Two spatially and temporally aggregated MODIS (Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) ocean data products are currently available for the Northeastern U.S. Coastal Ocean Region (including the Gulf of Maine and Georges Bank).
Data holdings include yearly time-series of 8-day composites of chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature from the MODIS sensors onboard the Terra and Aqua satellites. These regional data sets were created from daily MODIS Level 2 products furnished by the NASA Ocean
Color Processing System. Browse products include year-long movie loops and jpeg images. Additional data files containing the number of daily images (counts) that were used for each pixel average are also provided.

Daily MODIS Data:
COOA offers 8-day composites of chlorophyll-a and sea surface temperature through our Search and Retrieve Tool , but daily MODIS data are also available by special request. Please contact User Support if you'd like more information on obtaining daily MODIS data.
