The Buoy This Week:

April 8, 2008: 10:45 am

Buoy deployed on April 7, 2008! Despite the frigid water and divers being quite cold the buoy was deployed on Monday April 7. On Thursday April, 3rd we spent a little time finding the anchors as all the surface floats had disappeared. We would like to say that all is working great, most of it is but we're having a few problems. The underwater radiometers had to be removed during the deployment as the mounting hardware was slightly damaged. They will be replaced on Wednesday. The chlorophyll and turbidity sensor as well as the CDOM sensor both appear to not be working properly and will be replaced within a week. We were joined by Stan Hooker from NASA, John Morrow from Biospherical Instruments and the wonderful Bio-Optics class for the deployment.

As usual please contact me if you have any questions,

All the best,

Ru (Ru.Morrison@unh.edu)
